Astrid C. Kensinger​

Astrid Kensinger is currently Assistant Professor at NTU’s School of Art, Design and Media in Visual Communication. She holds an MFA from the Rhode Island School of Design and a BA in classical & near eastern archaeology from Bryn Mawr College. Her current major projects involve research and investigation of sacred sites, temples and mountains, examining the process of pilgrimage and methodologies of performing and delineating such actions.

Astrid performs though walking and mapping, usually with layers of history or mythology fused with the present. Her most recent projects have taken her to China, Indonesia, France, Spain and Greece. She fuses the somatic with visual communication.
