Health & Heritage — Urban Fitness Ground

Abstract or Summary of Project

This project is inspired by traditional Chinese regimen Taichi. It is a space and system designed to improve fitness and active level of people in all ages. Promoting cardiovascular exercise, muscular strength and endurance and flexibility, the range of 3 stations offer the primary practice extracted from Taichi motion. It would also act as a bridging tool for people to learn and appreciate the Chinese martial art and the philosophy behind it. Besides, it would be a good choice in using public space in today’s urban lifestyle. This project integrates urban furniture and fitness equipment in one space, providing social, cultural and physical nurturance for the community.
