Population Crisis

The population crisis we are facing currently has its roots way back in the 1960s. The overpopulation issues are mainly due to the government policies implemented over the years. A small implementation of a policy can have tremendous effects on the future, much like the butterfly effect. Below is a Graph I made of the growth of Singapore’s Population from the 1960s. As you can see, there is a increase in population to our current 5,183,700 people as of 28 September 2011. The increase can be attributed to a influx in foreigners due to government policies. After some research, I found that the overarching causes of the population crisis is due to the following factors:

  1. Government Policies
  2. Growth of economy
