Government Agencies

There are currently 4 governmental agencies responsible for the management of IAS in Singapore; Agri-food and Veterinary Authority of Singapore (AVA), National Parks Board (NParks), Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) and National Environment Agency (NEA). Each government agency is tasked with the implementation of different sets of laws and regulations towards the management of the IAS problem.

However, it is crucial to note that each of these agencies is tasked with managing different aspects of the IAS problem and there is currently an absence of a central task force in overseeing the problem of IAS coordinating different management efforts at the national level. Hence it would be beneficial to set up a central agency to effectively target the problem of IAS.
