The Cousteau Society

Jacques-Yves Cousteau founded the Cousteau Society in 1973. The Cousteau Society is a nonprofit environmental organisation that protects the sea and its inhabitants. It carried out many expedition research that led to greater findings of the sea. In 1990, it launched a global petition campaign protecting Antartica from mineral exploitation. This resulted in a ban of mineral undertaking for at least 50 years.
