One such collaboration is with the WWF. In the beginning of 2010, LDF teamed up with them to launch the Save Tigers Now campaign. Their goal is to raise awareness of the dangers faced by tigers and to rally support to save them from these dangers. LDF has also been donating to this cause, as mentioned in the previous philanthropy section. Their donations have also already been showing results, with the tigers in Terai’s Bardia National Park growing from an estimated 18 to 50 tigers.

In 2012, DiCaprio joined International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) to call for an end to elephant poaching and the illegal ivory trade. He serves as a global ambassador for IFAW’s Animal Action program – an international public awareness and educational initiative that reaches out to communities in more than 18 countries each year. DiCaprio also serves as an ambassador for the Antarctic Ocean Alliance (AOA). The AOA’s mission is to safeguard the Antarctic Oceans and species like whales, seals and penguins that live there. Because Russia has, for many years, led scientific and research efforts in the Antarctic, the organizations is calling on the Russian government to step up and lead the way in protecting the Southern Ocean wilderness.
