Individuals

Although you may feel that as individuals there is little we can do to help reduce poaching, but in fact there is much we can do. As we are the main reason why poaching is still sustaining, to reduce poaching we should reduce demand by reducing our consumption of poached animals products.

The fur, tusks ,meat of animals and many others are not necessities, we do not need these things for survival. In fact, many of these are mere wants for various reasons. In order to help save the endangered animals we could start with ourselves. As many learn by example, by setting an example and not purchasing such animal goods we can reduce poaching drastically.

Also, as an individual we could help by providing donations to these organisations aimed at helping reduce the number of endangered species. An example is the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) which  is the world’s leading conservation organization, WWF works in 100 countries and is supported by 1.1 million members in the United States and close to 5 million globally. WWF’s unique way of working combines global reach with a foundation in science, involves action at every level from local to global, and ensures the delivery of innovative solutions that meet the needs of both people and nature. By donating you are supporting and taking a stand in the environmental problems.

Therefore as an individual there is a lot that we can do and we can take a stand in reducing the number of endangered animals.
