Margaret’s conservation activities mostly began when she married Olaus Murie. As a biologist, Olaus was regularly called to do field studies on the wildlife in Alaska. The family travelled extensively in the Alaskan wilderness, and eventually settled in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
