The Conservation International (CI) collaborated with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and conducted a “Train the Trainers” climate change adaptation (CCA) workshop for provincial government staff in which they learned to conduct vulnerability assessments and make CCA plans that to help prepare the local coast. The participants in turn trained staff in each coastal government to use the tools to create comprehensive resource use plans that include CCA measures.

In May 2014, the Reef-World and Stairway Foundation Inc. collaborated and launched an innovative new educational program called the Sea Adventure School (SAS) targeted at elementary, high school and college students. The purpose of this SAS is to provide meaningful experiential learning about seas and oceans, mangroves, seagrass and coral reefs, so as to inspire interest in and appreciation of the unique features of each ecosystem. The pilot project took place in Muelle Bay, Philippines, which is reputed to be one of the most beautiful bays in the world, in hope to create a sense of pride and stewardship in the students, after having learnt how special their local environment is.
