Facebook is first started as a social website for the Harvard University in America to stay in touch and be in network with their own peers. Today , Facebook has opened its site to the Internet. Facebook users can join networks organized by city, workplace, school, and region to connect and interact with other people. They can also add friends and send them messages, and update their personal profiles to notify friends about themselves. The technology behind  Facebook is actually founded by Mark Zuckerberg.

On Australian’s The Age, Facebook Inc. quickly concluded it wasn’t worth anywhere near the $15 billion market value implied in a 2007 investment made by Microsoft Corp., according to confidential information obtained Wednesday from court documents. And, on Canadian’s The Star, More than a million Torontonians made friends with Facebook in 2007, contributing to the “phenomenal growth” in Canadian users last year. 1. Some things are meant to be free.

That was how the world wide web began. And thanks for the information you put up here, I learned that Facebook had the same genre of beginning. And I am so glad its still free and has benefited many lives since opening itself up to the world.

Facebook has indeed provided another way of communication for the busy, on the run individual. I personally see it as a great platform for social as well as businesses purposes.

Using Facebook for business expansion is definitely a feasible idea. This is an exceptionally valuable tool for any aspiring SOHO or even SMEs with limited resources and limited marketing experience as it allows its users to slowly build a relationship through social interactions, trust and a right to speak. It facilitates an non-intimidating way of marketing oneself.

Another great advantage of Facebook as I can see is that it allows anyone one to expand as far as the internet can be reached. It has no limits. This means that opportunities are almost limitless as well. One can be in Singapore and be communicating to a group of people in Latin America – on the other side of the globe!

Facebook is really a powerful application, hopefully it will always be used to benefit mankind.

Just the other day, I heard someone say, “I will facebook you the information.” Who knows, it may just have become another term in our ever expanding dictionary.

  4. Facebook profile picture is business appropriate because if there’s one thing anyone can see, it’s that picture…You can never be too cautious when it comes to social networks. Yes, they are a lot of fun and I know there are many people who spend a majority of their free time on them.
