Providing Strategic Leadership in Academic Business Library Services and Resources

Free is the Future of Business

Aug 29th, 2008 | By Alan Choy | Category: Marketing & International Business

An interesting article written by Chris Anderson, author of the book “The Long Tail”, talks about how “free” is the way to go for business, where consumers will first get something for free, and then subsequently pay for other products or services because of the free item.

Examples include giving away a cell phone but selling the monthly plans, and making the videogame console cheap but selling the games at higher prices.

Sounds interesting, go checkout the article “Free! Why $0.00 is the Future of Business”.
