Crime and Corruption in Organizations

Reports of corporate crimes have become commonplace in the media. Names such as Adelphia, Enron, Tyco, WorldCom, Northern Rock, Parmalat, and Halliburton have become synonymous with scandals and corporate misdeeds. Corporate crime is not a recent phenomenon, however, as is evident from Clinard’s and Yeager’s (2006) mid-1970s data which showed many incidents of serious crimes, particularly in large corporations.
