As the ideas of global warming and climate change progressively attracts global attention nowadays, sustainable development and green lifestyle has grown to be a worldwide project far beyond the territories of Singapore.

The emerging economics growth in Singapore and China has led to the increase in greenhouse gasses emission. There is a need to accelerate the sustainable development in order to reduce the impact on the environment. Many Singaporeans take for granted the clean and hygienic environment of Singapore. However, in many rural countries, people are still lacking of basic water and sanitation. Therefore, there is an urgent need to raise environmental awareness especially among the youths in Singapore.

The Environmental Technology Exhibition aims to inspire future generation to be passionate about environmental development and to provide a basic knowledge and understanding for students about the current and latest green technology as well as the basic technologies for water and sanitation.

 The Environmental Technology Exhibition is divided into 4 main themes:

  1. Energy Conservation – This part of the exhibition demonstrates some types of the renewable sources of energy in the market, from solar energy to biofuels.
  2. Water Management – Water management based on Singapore’s experiences are illustrated here, such as Marina Barrage and NEWater.
  3. Solid Waste Management – In dealing with solid waste, Singapore has its way of clearing the waste. However, recycling is a foremost importance that is encouraged and monitored over the years.
  4. Green Lifestyle – Besides technology, the most important thing about doing a part for the environment is the role that we all play in our daily lives. Here, we look at the various efforts that NGOs (Non-Governmental Organizations) in Singapore has done, as well as what we could do ourselves.
