During your research, you may come across a journal article when you use a search engine such as Google to conduct your searches. And when you followed the URL given, you were unable to access to fulltext of the article. For example you used Google and retrieved http://www.iop.org/EJ/abstract/0957-4484/16/8/038 and you clicked on the ‘Fulltext’ icon or ‘PDF’ link you were not able to access the fulltext. What should you do in such cases?
The answer is to use the NTU Library EZproxy Bookmarklet to check whether the article is subscribed by NTU Library and if yes, you will be able to access the fulltext. Click here to find out ‘How to Install The Proxy Bookmarklet’. How does this EZproxy Bookmarklet work?
Simply, when you use the EZproxy Bookmarklet, it changes the URL, http://www.iop.org/EJ/abstract/0957-4484/16/8/038 (Not through NTU EZproxy authentication) to http://iopscience.iop.org.ezlibproxy1.ntu.edu.sg/0957-4484/16/8/038/?ejredirect=.iopscience (Through NTU EZproxy authentication). Therefore, once you go through the authentication, you can access the fulltext if the article is subscribed by NTU Library.
