NTU Library recently subscribed to the CrossFire Database Suite, which comprised of CrossFire Beilstein, CrossFire Gmelin and Patent Chemistry Database. The suite provides access to a large amount of chemical information in organic, inorganic and organometallic chemistry.

Types of chemical information available include:

·         Structures

·         Physical properties

·         Reactions

·         Over 8 million organic compounds (Beilstein)

·         1.4 million inorganic and organometallic compounds (Gmelin)

Searchable fields available include:

·         Chemical structure and/or sub-structure

·         Physical data

·         Reactant or product

·         Literature references

Currently, the CrossFire Database Suite is client based and users have to install the client commander onto their local PC to access. It is also available at Standalone PC 1 and 2 at Lee Wee Nam Library Level 3.
