Launched in late 2012 by Elsevier, one of the leading publishers of scientific, technical and medical information; ClinicalKey is a clinical reference tool designed to provide better and faster answers to physicians’ clinical questions.

ClinicalKey’s search engine addresses physicians’  three key search requirements:

  1. Comprehensiveness – ClinicalKey provides answers from a large collection of published medical resources in every medical and surgical specialty, and includes all MEDLINE abstracts with access and entitlements to other full-text documents.
  2. Trust – Pulls authoritative medical and surgical content from Elsevier.
  3. Speed – Smart Content (search engine) feature enables fast discovery of the most relevant answers, plus more intuitive searching. Smart Content maps content to EMMeT, Elsevier’s proprietary medical taxonomy, and builds relationships using a semantic framework, thus providing connections highlighted between medical concepts and suggestions of related content that conventional clinical search engines or Google ® might miss.

The medical library has a subscription to this database starting this month and invites you to explore the content available here.
