Spoon Up at NTU ADM Portfolio

Spoon Up demonstrates how simple objects like disposable plastic spoons can evolve to become unique and exotic fashion products. As used disposable plastic spoons remain unrecycled, Spoon Up upcycles them to create captivating jewelleries. The work visualizes an artistic interpretation of forms in nature. They are seen as dualistic or contradictory. Although the form resembles soft petals, the material paradox and visual illusion stir the imagination.

線 (Thread) (2014)

Inspired by the nature, coffee stains are used as a medium to mimic the dynamism and movement of plants. Displaying a complementary fusion of details and simplicity, geometric shapes replaced part of the motifs to create mimesis, a re-presentation of nature.Living in a mutually dependent and interactive natural system, plants of all species interact with each other in a co-operative fashion. Thread, portrays the mechanism through the roots that plants use to communicate between one another. A geometric Fibonacci spiral in the middle acts a Mother Tree that could directly interact with the nature through the threads.
