This project is a personal investigation on craftsmanship and physical making. This project was conceived with the intention of shedding light on the indescribable quality of crafted objects that makes them valuable and relevant today. Due to the nature of craft being linked to tactility and texture, the design process is meant to be hands on, with handcrafted design solutions. The rich and interesting logics and values silently balanced under the term “craft” will be highlighted in a series of illustrations. By extracting the essence of craft processes and characteristics, the decision was made to express these concepts in a series of embroidery illustrations.
