Process and More Details

Shirakawa-go (白川郷, Shirakawagō) is a UNESCO World Heritage site that is tucked away in the mountain ranges of the Gifu Prefecture (岐阜県). Away from the bustle of city life, it is known for its peaceful stillness, especially during Winter. In 2011, a 9.0 magnitude earthquake hit Japan’s North-Eastern shoreline. This caused ripple effects on the Shirakawa-go’s tourism and thus, a downfall in its tourism sector.
