Wildly Reimagined

Wildly Reimagined aims to promote ecological awareness and protect the natural habitats of native Singapore wildlife species by showcasing the reimagined animals through AI-generated designs. The project aims to pique the audience’s curiosity and creativity with such designs to foster a deeper understanding of the natural world and promote sustainable action.

AI technology used in Wildly Reimagined generates unique, whimsical, and one-of-a-kind designs that are transformed into comforting and familiar stuffed toys. The project also aims to humanise and demystify AI technology, showing audiences its potential for creative and practical applications beyond conventional computing tasks. This strategy aims to increase the audience’s receptivity to the advantages of AI in other aspects of their lives.

Orchidaceae

Orchidaceae is a project rooted in Singapore’s strong relations with the orchid plant. Through the lens of a Singaporean narrative, this project delves into and documents the role of these perennial plants in our national history. The project features ‘agnes’, a refined font that blends the natural features of Singapore’s national flower, the Vanda Miss Joaquim, with practical legibility. It is named after the orchid’s creator and is well-suited for use in prominent areas of posters or headers, as well as smaller body text. This adaptable typeface is offered in three weights, ranging from light to bold, and in a regular italic style.

Essence of Hawker Centres

Singapore is renowned as a food haven, largely due to our hawker foods. However, with the city-state’s rapid digitalisation and growth, it has become increasingly challenging to preserve the traditional hawker culture. Consequently, it is likely that hawker centres in Singapore will undergo significant changes, and the cultural landscape of hawker culture will inevitably shift in the near future. To combat this, this project’s main objective will be to archive and document hawker centres through the eyes of locals, with the aim of preserving the rich culture that these hawker centres embody.

By exploring the subtleties and nuances of hawker centres across the city-state, this project hopes to uncover the true essence of hawker culture in Singapore. This will not only foster a sense of identity amongst the local community but also serve to celebrate the unique hawker culture that has flourished in Singapore for generations. By documenting and archiving the cultural significance of these hawker centres, the project aims to preserve this vibrant part of Singapore’s heritage for future generations to appreciate and cherish.
