How Can You Miss Me…(if I never go away)? (2014)

Paul Kohl

Description

While working on my Famagusta book in Cyprus, I found this shard of mirror. I had spent the previous two weeks speaking very little, wandering the streets and fields of that historic city. With the mirror, there was suddenly someone to talk with who spoke my language and would miss me if I went away.

There was a Japanese man who married his Avatar he had created on his cellphone. I haven’t gone that far.

The picture was made with a Leica M9p and a Leitz 28mm lens. I made the print on Canson Rag Photographiqué, a wonderful printing paper.
