Description
This small catalog is about an exhibition that brought together for the first time the responses of contemporary artists towards war and peace in the wake of the civil war in Sri Lanka. Co-curated with the artist Jagath Weerasinghe, it was held at the Lionel Wendt Arts Center in Colombo, Sri Lanka in July 2013.
The accompanying conference also entitled War and Peace: Visual Narratives from Contemporary Sri Lanka brought together scholars and practitioners of different visual traditions such as artists, filmmakers, dancers, and theatre practitioners, who have all visually responded in various ways to the war and its aftermath.
