Hello there! This site consolidates the various resources for well-being support available to you in ADM as well as in NTU. Browse the site at your own time and if you feel you are facing any mental well-being struggles, please reach out and we will do our best to support you.
The ADM Student Well-being Team
The ADM student well-being team is made up of two groups of people!
1) The ADM well-being support office
2) The ADM student peer support team

The ADM well-being support office consists of two key staff. Senior lecturer Candice Ng oversees all ADM students’ well-being matters and works closely together with the ADM student care manager; Amber Li who helps support students on well-being issues.

Assistant Chair (Students) ACS, Candice provides leadership and support on students’ wellbeing concerns. She is an educator that has a passion for learning and believes that every student matters. She holds an MFA in New Media and finds pleasure and beauty in the simple and small things. Amber Li
ADM Student Care Manager (SCM)
Supports ADM student well-being issues

Student Care Manager (SCM), Amber provides assistance and guidance on students’ wellbeing concerns. She believes that each individual’s life experience is unique, and everyone has the potential to thrive in life through personal growth and community support. Amber holds a Bachelor of Psychology and a Master of Counselling. Her experience of living and studying abroad taught her to appreciate individual differences and to enjoy the simple things in life. In her spare time, Amber enjoys reading books, watching movies, and exploring nature and new cuisines. 2) ADM Student Peer Support team
The ADM student peer support team consists of four undergraduate student peer helpers and three graduate student peer helpers who are advocates of student well-being causes and will be happy to lend a listening ear or point you to the right avenues and channels for support. Feel free to reach out to them if you would like someone to have a chat about any well-being issues that you may be facing.

Jessica Hendrawan Putri (Chika) (she/her)

Jessica is currently pursuing a Media pathway. You can also call her Chika! As an ADM peer helper, she hopes to help new students adjust to university life and cope with their stresses. She wholeheartedly believes that a good rest is just as equally important as working hard! In her spare, she enjoys playing JRPGs. Feel free to contact her on telegram, @chik0path!
Teo Shu Min(she/her)
Year 4 Design Art – @shuminteoo on Telegram
Shumin is currently pursuing the Visual Communications pathway. She enjoys meeting new people and spreading joy to others. Through the ADM peer support program, Shumin hopes to bring joy to others by being a support for any fellow peers who are struggling or in need of someone to talk to. She is a strong advocate for mental health and strongly believes in finding joy in the simple things. During her free time, she enjoys watching dramas, making dioramas, or getting her hands on any art projects. Her ultimate dream in life is to retire by 45, do what she loves and enjoy life! Ng Jing Han (Jae) (she/they)

Jae is currently pursuing the Game & Animation pathway. She has personally gone through the mental health infrastructure herself, as such, Jae can advise and chat about the process of seeking psychological help and support. As part of the ADM peer helper team, Jae hopes to guide fellow peers who may be struggling with mental health issues to the support that they may need. In her free time, Jae enjoys oil painting, petting stray cats, and playing adventure games. Her ultimate dream in life is to paint oil paintings for a living! Do say hello to Jae if you see her in ADM!
Teh Mao Zhi (he/him)
Year 4 Media Art – @hiieya on Telegram
Mao Zhi is currently in the Media general pathway, pursuing a second major. He believes that mental well-being is an important, as it affects every individual and the people around us. Mao Zhi enjoys meeting people, and as an ADM peer helper, he learns about the importance of managing emotions. As someone who has his fair shares of struggles in his teenage years where his family met with bankruptcy, he is of the view that life is full of ups and downs and being able to appreciate the simple things around him helps him to smile even when the sky is as dark as dark chocolate! Mao Zhi takes great pleasure in enjoying a simple cup of coffee or tea, he loves meeting new people and exploring new places. In his spare time, he enjoys dusting his shelf with collectibles, but most of the time, he prefers to chill and enjoys playing video games. If you drop him a message, remember to say you are from ADM, if not, he might think it’s another tele spam trying to cheat him!

“Hello My name is Kian Peng, a PhD candidate and adjunct lecturer in ADM. I’m a practicing artist, and sometimes curator. Life can be very difficult and stressful for many reasons, and they come in very specific compositions in the creative field. I’ve had my fair share of ups and downs. Over the years, I’ve also come across many students and fellow artists who’ve had a variety of problems in their lives or careers. I’m also very good at listening, so I am happy to put that to good use here––it can be a career dilemma or stress or any emotional problems. Hit me up!”
BEACON@ADM – UWO Satellite Counselling Service*
*ADM students who had already seen counsellors at University Counselling Centre (UCC), kindly do continue to engage with your specific counsellors readily at UCC.
BEACON@ADM is a satellite counselling service provided by the University Counselling Centre to make professional counselling more accessible and convenient to students.
Counsellor: Martin Nonis
Martin Nonis has vast experience in working with adolescents to adults for over 20+ years. His experiences covers persons with mental health concerns such as depression, mood disorders, chronic mental illness, anxiety disorders to existential issues. Martin has also worked with persons with special needs such as autism and developmental disabilities providing support to caregivers. He is passionate about helping people in need and is a great person to chat with.
