Group 10 Video 1 – Chemical Concepts behind Carbohydrates
Carbohydrates, also known as saccharides, can be classified under two categories; monosaccharides and polysaccharides. Monosaccharides exist in either as aldoses or ketoses, and polysaccharides are formed when many monosaccharides bonded via glycosidic bond. Example of polysaccharides are cellulose and starch.
