Radiation is the emission of energy as electromagnetic waves and it is the main source of how Sun’s heat reach Earth. Ozone depletion occurs when UV radiation breaks down chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) that are released into the atmosphere, generating chlorine atoms which react with ozone.
