Nurturing Curious Minds will mainly be an in-person symposium. We are considering adding an online element to this event. For onsite attendees, please find information about the symposium venue below.
Nanyang Technological University (NTU) is a local university in Singapore. Located in the western part of Singapore, it is home to the country’s largest engineering faculty and the National Institute of Education. You can find out more about NTU here: https://www.ntu.edu.sg/.
The symposium will be held specifically in Gaia, Asia’s largest wooden building, which houses the prestigious Nanyang Business School (NBS). It recently opened in 2023 (https://www.ntu.edu.sg/business/news-events/news/story-detail/welcome-to-gaia).
Getting to Gaia
Here is the Google Maps link to Gaia: https://g.co/kgs/2D98zkW
NTU has a webpage dedicated to providing directions for visitors who want to get to NTU here: https://www.ntu.edu.sg/life-at-ntu/visiting-ntu. We summarise the information below:
1. BY CAR
The PIE expressway has the closest exits to NTU. From the PIE, take either the Jalan Bahar entrance (Exit 36) or the Pioneer North entrance (Exit 38).
Here is an interactive campus map.
If you are driving your own car, here is information on where to park on campus, and the parking charges. We use the Barrier-Free Smart Car Park System on NTU.
2. BY BUS
- Service 179
If you take the 179 from Boon Lay Bus Interchange (next to Boon Lay MRT Station), you will be taken on a ‘tour’ around NTU before you reach Gaia. The bus stop closest to Gaia (just beside it) is called ‘Academic Building South’.
This bus service is available from 0600-2400 hrs on weekdays and Saturdays, and from 0630-0020hrs on Sundays and Public Holidays.
This is the bus route for 179: https://www.transitlink.com.sg/eservice/eguide/service_route.php?service=179
The nearest train stations to NTU are Boon Lay (EW27) and Pioneer (EW28) on the East-West Line operated by SMRT Corporation.
From Boon Lay station, walk through the shopping mall, Jurong Point, to get to the bus interchange. Services 179 & 199 will take you in to NTU.
From Pioneer station, take Exit B, and walk down the stairs to the bus stop. Take the Campus Rider, 179 or 199, which all stop in front of Blk 649A, Jurong West Street 61, Singapore 641649.
If you are coming from Changi Airport and are travelling light, you can get on at Changi Airport (CG2), transfer at Tanah Merah (EW4) and take the train all the way to Boon Lay or Pioneer station. The journey takes just over an hour.
