Pleats and Sewing

Unwrapping the pleats. Finally, they have arrived.
Before sending the georgette material for pleating, we measured and estimated the amount we will be using. Then, I sewed the bottom parts of it to prevent fraying. It is interesting to see how it is packaged, have the fabric sandwiched in between the paper packaging, following the pleats on the paper.

After unwrapping the fabric, my mom showed me an example of sewing the tops of it before drafting in the design from the pattern as the fabric is really soft and slippery, it serves a better way of keeping the pleats together.

After ironing the dyed satin and having the pleats properly cut down, they’re being tied together, ready to be sewed by my mom’s very helpful worker, Feng auntie. She is the one in charge of the sewing, giving me time for other works and for that, I will always be grateful.
