Dress! Week 9 (14/10)

This week, I made the skirt of the dress, which completes the overall look of the dress. For the skirt, I weaved a total of five panels where each panel appear to look like the one in the picture below:

A panel of skirt when it is in its relax state (Model: My Beautiful Professor, Galina)

A panel of skirt when it is in its tense state (Model: My Beautiful Professor, Galina)

Before I stitch the panels together to make the skirt, I tried it out to see if the overall look I envision is up to expectations in real life.

Here, I subtracted a couple of things and made some changes to my design again. Firstly, I removed the front centre piece and attach both ends of the armour to my underarm to create a symmetrical angular sleeve. Secondly, I removed the grey organza which I planned to have under the panels of the skirt. Thirdly, I added a translucent grey strip of polypropylene sheet as a belt to complement the grey colour of the felt beneath it.

Next, I decided that the back of the armour is too long and can be removed to make a headpiece. The following are different ways I experiment for the placement of the headpiece.

In addition, I thought I could make a arm shield with the additional length of the armour as shown below:

Are you judging me now?
