Recess week (30/9)

Well, recess week was not a break for us but time for us to work on our fashion wear.
Using fishing thread, I stitched pieces of weaved metal together to create an armour.

I realised that the weaves on the armour was very uniform and decided to try creating a transition by increasing the size of the weave gradually to create more dynamic weaves.

I tried out the armour on myself to check if the length is enough or needs to be extended.

The length of the armour was just right. So I continued to boil some grey organza. The grey organza serves as a protective layer between the underside of the metal cans and myself. I twisted parts of the grey organza with aluminum foil to create a three dimensional spiky form. Through boiling, I was able to retain the spiky forms held by the aluminum foil.

However for the later part when I tried out the whole attire with the grey organza, I decided to subtract it from my design because there were too many textures and the grey organza with its spiky forms appears very distracting.
