Concept:

I want to create a dress that will ground and calm down wearers with anxiety attacks. It also helps wearers who may go through high levels of stress.

The dress will detect the signs of an anxiety attack/high levels of stress using:
– a pulse meter that detects elevated pulse rates, and
– a conductance sensor that detects the amount of sweat produced by the body.

The dress is then programmed to activate the LED lights, which will emit blue lights that are calm and soothing, and also pulse slowly to induce deep breathing. The dress will also be sewn with patterns that help wearers to be grounded by consciously tracing the lines with their fingers and feeling the textile on their fingers.

The form of the dress is inspired by Ernst Haeckel’s illustrations of Jellyfish and Squid.
