INSPIRATION BAORD
My inspiration for the final project is ocean waves. I thought it will be quite interesting to mimic the colour, curves, and movement of it. Initially, i started by trying to mimic the colours and movement with different techniques that we taught in class.
1. WET FELTING
Through this technique, i managed to somehow capture the movement of the waves. I also liked how the edges came out irregular, which kind of suit the wavy texture.
2. CARROTING (FELT)
At this point, i started simplifying it into just two colours. Which I thought was really interesting. As even though its just two colours contrasting, it still manage suggest movement.
3. DYEING YARNS
I tried dyeing my own yarns so as to get the different shades, but it did not work out at all.
4. BLEACHING YARNS
As I didnt really like the colour, I tried bleaching it to see what will happen. I also tried to bleach t shirt yarns, but it didnt work out as most of the places that sells t shirt yarns are 100% polyester.
5. KNITTING
I started off knitting, trying to get the wave texture with basic stitches. But I thought that the edges were too straight and rigid looking. So I moved on to try crocheting.

I wanted to use t shirt yarns for the final product, but then Diaso ran out of stock for it… So i decided to use wool instead. But i managed to mix the final product at the edges by unraveling this sample.
