What is this technique? Felting use a variety of primarily natural fibers and understanding of the process of how different materials react to pressure and moisture which result in organic effects that occur with natural shrinkage of different animal hairs combine and how they interlock with each other (wet felting) and interact with woven fabrics […]

Vacuum Forming
What is this technique? A sheet of plastic material is heated to pliability, then pressed against a 3D mold by vacuuming out the air between the sheet, and the mold. Reflections: I do not really like this method as it wastes quite a lot of plastic as the exterior part after forming cannot be used. The objects […]
Thermoplastics
What is this technique? It involves the melting of polymer in the organza and remoulding it when it is cool into the desire shape and pattern. Step 1: Find objects to attach to the 100% polyester organza to form the pattern that you want to achieve Step 2: Use a rubber than […]
Fabric of Threads
What is this technique? It is the creation of fabrics through joining threads together into one piece. Step 1: Cut the water-soluble sheet into the size you need Step 2: Place threads and yarns in between 2 sheet of the water- soluble material Step 3: Sew the around the boundary of the water-soluble […]
Plastic Fusing
What is this technique: Plastic fusing is using heat to combine and fuse different plastics together creating different thickness and texture Reflections : I really enjoyed this method as slight changes in temperature, changes in thickness and the properties of the plastics will result in different outcomes. It is challenging to replicate the same […]
Transfer Printing (Transprint Ink)
Step 1: Paint your design onto the paper Step 2: Wait for the paint to dry completely before proceeding to iron onto fabric Step 3: Peel the ed Reflection: The application is simple however the ink looks a lot darker than the print itself which makes it hard to envision the colour.
Transfer Printing ( Transfer paper onto wood)
Transfer paper for hard surfaces Step 1: Pick a design that you want to print Step 2: Use a laser printer to print onto the paper to ensure best results Step 3: Use either a heat press or an iron the transfer the print onto the wood. ( Sand the wood to make sure […]
Transfer Printing ( Transfer paper onto fabric)
Textile transfer paper Step 1: Pick a design that you want to print Step 2: Use a laser printer to print onto the paper to ensure best results Step 3: Use either a heat press or an iron the transfer the print onto the fabric Step 4: Peel the edge the check if the print […]
Transfer Printing ( Fabric Crayon)
Reflection: I find the this method is relatively easy to execute. It is interesting that it can be used multiple times which could be good when creating repetitive patterns. However the only down side would be that is it not so easy to create precise patterns as the crayon is quite chunky.
