The video aims to understand migrants’ life in Singapore, specifically low-wage foreign workers, as well as Singaporeans’ attitudes towards them. Interviews will be conducted to help the team better understand the topic at hand. Two different sets of interview questions will be presented—one for Singaporeans and one for the migrant workers. The first set will look into the discrimination of migrant workers in Singapore and the second set will help us better understand migrant’s daily life and their living conditions. In order to reach out to these demographic of workers, we will be visiting them at their workplaces to interview them. . Theories regarding exploitation and boundary maintenance would be relevant to the chosen topic. By alternating different cuts of the interviews, we hope to illustrate clearly the potential disparity or lack of disparity in the opinions of Singaporeans towards low-wage foreign workers as well as foreign workers’ perception of self.

Theories regarding exploitation and boundary maintenance would be relevant to the chosen topic. The interview will take up 4 minutes of the video and the remaining 2 minutes will showcase links between the case study and the theories.

  2. Have you interacted with any Bangladeshi workers before?
    1. If yes, how did you find them?
    2. If no, what is your general impression of them?
