Assignment outcome of “A TYPE of public talk”, TYPOGRAPHY III, 2018
A collaboration between ADM and FRANK by OCBC

A TYPE of Public Talk allowed Typography III students to work in a design assignment in collaboration with FRANK by OCBC . Participants selected a message they felt needed to be addressed at FRANK by OCBC on NTU campus. Taking for granted that a designer is a social educator; they did approach their messages from a socio-cultural prism. Participants created interactive installations while engaging in physical type design creation. This ‘physicality’ regarding type design was communicated using a modular 3D structure they could assemble to form different 3D typefaces as well as objects in situ. The resulting outcomes are sustainable designs that are now in a prototyping phase. In 2019, visitors will be able to enjoy these designs at FRANK by OCBC
