We are Team Rexus, a group of undergraduate students from various majors – Mechanical engineering, Aerospace engineering and Chemical engineering. We worked as a group to work on a small part of a bigger Mars rover project under the module EE5082. Our work here under the course mainly involved the development of an “Onboard lab” and a “Robotic arm”.
Our attempt here is to document our process and reach a state where mechanically our components are ready for the University Rover Challenge 2024 which is being held in Utah, USA.
The Team
Yuvraj Naik | Team Lead
Major : Mechanical Engineering
Yuvraj takes charge as the lead and the founder of Team Rexus at NTU. While having extensive knowledge of both mechanics and electronics, he is responsible for designing the robotic arm and working on electronics for both the Lab and the arm.
Manan Singh Palia | Mechanical Lead
Major : Aerospace Engineering
Manan takes charge of the mechanical aspect of the Onboard Lab. His expertise in CAD and 3D printing, along with meticulous attention to detail makes him suitable for designing and executing mechanical tasks. His expertise allowed us to bring both designs to life
Michael Tantoco | Science Lead
Major : Chemical Engineering
Michael plays a critical role in the team as he is responsible for deciding what chemical tests to use for the lab. His skill and experience helped us assemble a spectrophotometer from scratch and achieve the required objective.
