coE (eee), YEAR 3 | Central Operations and Engineering Engineer at STMicroelectronics
My roles as a Central Operations and Engineering Engineer includes analysing and reviewing in Wafer Level Testing, Material Review Board (MRB), and performed data analysis in Manufacturing and Parametric Testing. Through my daily tasks, I was able to learn how to analyse the data and conduct tests on modified parameters to improve the yield performance of the batch of wafers. After test were conducted, I analysed the data to understand what were the issue of the wafers that causes yield loss and from there, I conclude with the possible cause of the issue (such as manual handling or equipment issues) and provide a possible solution to reduce the yield loss.

coE (mse), YEAR 4 | IFAP BE TS PTE AT at Infineon Technologies AG
My internship experience at Infineon has been very fruitful and given me invaluable technical skills. I’m part of the automation team where we work to optimize and automate backend testing processes of semiconductor chips.
On my first day, I was given a tour of the testing facility which was a unique and unforgettable experience. My project involves creating a python-based productive system for the detection of high failure lots and creating a web application to display the analysed plots, trigger corrective measures and collect feedback from engineers. It is rewarding to know that the system I create will be a useful tool in ensuring the quality and reliability of chips.

Being given the opportunity to experience the job & culture in one of the biggest semiconductor industry, Micron Semiconductor Asia Pte. Ltd., have been rewarding. People definitely plays a part in providing a conducive environment as the team members in Micron are friendly & helpful. Their mentor-mentee program have made the transition from being a student to an intern much easier. To add on, the company have various focus groups to take part in such as the Micron Young Professional (MYP) where young employees are grouped together to organise & execute an internal charity/ volunteering events for the team members. It is somewhat like a CCA in the company to give a path for team members to take part in to build relationship with other team members as well.

coE (cbe), YEAR 4 | IFAP BE TS PTE AT at Infineon Technologies AG
It has been an enjoyable experience making friends with the other interns as well as colleagues. The work environment is friendly, and I was comfortable approaching any of the colleagues for help if I had any problems with my project. As interns, we were also given the opportunity to participate in internal workshops and competitions such as “Pitch, Please!” where we could produce an AI solution to a current problem. Through this competition, we gain exposure into the potential problems and solutions in Back End and learned more about other departments. Overall, this internship has been a fruitful experience!

coE (CBe), YEAR 4 | Interned at Glaxo Wellcome Manufacturing Pte Ltd
I was an intern involved with one of the digital twin projects in my internship organisation, where I was tasked with designing a dashboard for production to visualise various process parameters, which could potentially be used for monitoring and quality adherence tasks. As I had some knowledge gaps when it came to designing a dashboard, I am grateful for the support that my colleagues have provided me, while also giving me the space to learn and explore. Apart from acquiring the hard skills, I had the opportunity to hone my presentation and conversational skills, through meetings with the users to gather feedback to improve the dashboard design and features.

coE (MS), YEAR 4 | Business Analyst Intern at Bureau Veritas Marine (Singapore) Pte. Ltd.
Interning at Bureau Veritas Marine (Singapore), as a business analyst intern, has been one of my most enjoyable experience during my studies here at NTU. I have had the privilege and pleasure of joining the commercial department consisting of a team of dedicated individuals. My core focus, as a business analyst intern, lies in the market research and the creation of dashboards. However, at Bureau Veritas (BV), I was never tasked with just 1 specific job scope, rather, I was given the opportunities to join various business activities. Such activities included attending of client meetings, participating in networking events and personally drafting of business proposals which were really eye-opening experience for a student like myself. As an icing on the cake, I was also able to join unique projects regarding water and aviation drones which offers me great insight to the ongoing businesses in the maritime industry. This internship has certainly provided me with the advanced exposure to the real world and allowed me to find where my passion lies in. Before internship, I might not have thought that sustainability was something I’ll like to pursue in the long run, but this internship has managed to prove me wrong. All in all, going through an internship gave me the chance to carry out on-the-job learning which reinforces what I have learnt in class but also taught me invaluable skills such as problem-solving and networking.

coE (wsdeg), dsai graduate | Advanced Micro Devices (Singapore) Pte. Ltd.
I really enjoyed the culture here at AMD, a shoutout to my team and supervisor who have been supportive and nurturing in my journey to know more about the semi-conductor industry. Being from a data science and artificial intelligence background, going into the semi-conductor industry was a challenge no doubt. I really came to learn more about the technical terms and the procedures/working of producing a product which I would have never learnt in school. Another learning point would be mainly focusing on soft skills, as I must communicate with people located in different parts of the world through online platform, communication becomes very important, how I portray and explain my works and ideas during meetings was some skills that I honed over the span of my journey with AMD.

coE (WSDEG), DSAI GRADUATE | Interned at Glaxo Wellcome Manufacturing Pte Ltd
Throughout the program, I was able to experience different job scopes inside the organisation/department. My supervisor at L’Oréal was very very nice and responsible, so was the WSDP officers who kept track of my progress. Even though eventually I chose to join another company, I believe my experience at L’Oréal was very valuable and helped me get the graduate offer. Therefore I would highly recommend my juniors to go for WSDP, as it adds great value not only to your resume, but also in terms of skillset and network.
