Joining as a Community Scientist

Joining as a Community Scientist of Project PUMA

We invite you to join us to Profile Urban Microbes in Asia, a community science project. Our project seeks to learn more about the microbial world in Asia’s cities and the built-up environment.

We need volunteers who can collect environmental samples when they travel or from their homes or workplaces. Volunteers should have knowledge of, and access to, interesting and usually inaccessible sites, including private property, areas with unusual habitats, or locations of great microbiological diversity. Record data about the collection site and send the samples to the lab. Volunteers can monitor the testing results of their samples online.

  • Students aged 16 and below should have parental consent to participate in this open community science program.
  • Have a keen interest in contributing to science

Safety Points
