Luci del varietà
Variety Lights, Lights of Variety (1950)
Synopsis
“Liliana, a stage-struck young woman, sees the performance of a touring variety show and follows the company to the next town. She is soon incorporated into the show as a dancer, and on the night of her first performance, she saves the evening from near disaster. Eventually Checco, the middle-aged manager of the company, falls in love with her, much to the disappointment of his mistress, Melina. The ambitious Liliana is not satisfied with the small show, however, and uses her charm to secure a part in one of the prestigious productions of impresario Conti. Sorrowful and morose, Checco returns to his forgiving mistress. The train pulls out of the station with Liliana in a first-class pullman and Checco’s company in the crowded third-class compartments.”
