Budget 2017 was aimed to address how Singaporeans could continue to make a living, as well as how they might look after one another.

The Budget is about building the kind of society that Singapore aspires to be – we should be inclusive and have social mobility. This will mean that when there is a need to raise taxes or prices, those who are richer have to foot a bigger bill so that the poorer people can get more help.

The Government also announced increases in water prices and diesel, and plans to introduce carbon taxes.
