Although US President Donald Trump pulled out of the Paris Agreement of climate change, the mayors of Pittsburgh, William Peduto, and Paris, Anne Hidalgo, stays united under the same desire to fight climate change and create a cleaner, healthier, more prosperous world.

Pittsburgh is one of nearly 250 cities in the United States, whose mayors have committed to honor and uphold the goals of the Paris Agreement. The city, previous smog covered due to industrialization, has emerged as a trailblazer in environment innovation and is on track to meet the goal of slashing greenhouse gas emissions by 20 percent by 2023.

Paris also resolves to deliver on the ambition of the Paris Agreement by building an ever more sustainable and thriving city.
