South East Asia is a paradise for food lovers. In Singapore, the people are not only infamous food travellers and hunters but the government itself aims to turn the island into a world-class tourist destination with a slew of events gathering the world’s most renowned chefs. But as consumers are getting more sophisticated are they also growing a conscious and are they able to see the paradox in our broken food system?

So, what is broken in our food system? In one sentence: We need to feed more than 9 billion people by 2050. 

What is a Food Citizen? One who is informed, deliberate and active…

  • Actively aware of food system issues
  • Employes socially and environmentally conscious decision-making
  • Chooses food based on its origin, how it’s produced, and who’s producing it
  • Influences many aspects of the food system, including socioeconomic justice and environmental sustainability.
