Exhibition: Packaging Matters

From 6 April 2019 to 12 May 2019

National Museum Of Singapore, 93 Stamford Road Singapore 178897

This exhibition features iconic, familiar and beloved food products enjoyed by Singaporeans across multiple generations — shedding light on the early bottling and canning factories, the light industries of the 1960s–70s, the development of packing technologies and the design identities of local food brands. It explores the Singapore food packaging story through three main ideas — heritage, design and sustainability.

With sustainability being a key concern in our society today, the exhibition also uncovers the sustainable practices shaping our modern food packaging industry.

There will be special interactive activities. You can get a hands-on experience of the exhibition through ‘feely’ boxes (where visitors can feel the food packaging material inside the box and guess what it is), bonding at a family corner with puzzles and wall murals, and play a recycling game at the sustainability section.

Where: Stamford Gallery, Level 1, National Museum of Singapore (93 Stamford Road, Singapore 178897)
