Explore mental illness through a different lens in this workshop.

Watch Crazywise – an award-winning film documenting the mental illness journeys of two young Americans amidst the growing severity of the mental health crisis dominated by biomedical psychiatry.

Filmed by human rights photographer and film maker Phil Borges who spent more than 25 years documenting indigenous cultures, Crazywise explores how these cultures identify some mental health phenomena such as hearing voices and having visions as indications of gifts that are to be nurtured, instead of symptoms to be suppressed.

After the film, participate in guided reflections and Open Space Dialogue to discuss what can be learned from those who have turned their psychological crises into positive transformative experiences.
