Storytelling is the heartbeat of social change. Stories transform minds, inspire action, and unite people.

In Their Own Words was created by UN Women Singapore to tell the stories of everyday people who are championing gender equality. It features men and women who are taking the road less travelled by speaking up, removing obstacles, and influencing the next generation.

Lasting change does not come from the loudest voice or the biggest platform. Progress is made by individuals who use their journeys to set an example, and encouraging others to eliminate all forms of discrimination against women and girls.
