Into its fifth edition, Read! Fest continues to be a celebration of the joy of reading. The theme for this year is The Pursuit of Happiness, and it has over 150 programmes for all ages and reading tastes to find their unique happiness.

Highlights of the festival include:

 

Human Library: Wanderlust

Travellers from diverse backgrounds share what makes travel so important to them – their best memories and experiences, how it has influenced their work, and the impact it’s had on their lives. Meet the human books – Author Yu-Mei Balasingamchow, Oil Painter Alvin Mark Tan, Pop-up Campers Dan and Sue Ong, and National Geographic Photographer Jayaprakash Bojan.

Farm to Table: Reading to Innovate

A panel discussion that explores how reading moulds the minds of food and beverage professionals and helped them through their journeys in their specific occupational backgrounds. The stories behind the scenes, where the panel describes the why of food breathe life and context into ingredients, dishes and meals. Hear from founders of ComCrop, Empire Eats Group, Papa Palheta and Park Bench Deli on what got them started in the trade, and their transcendence. The panel is moderated by Victoria Cheng, an outstanding food journalist and presenter.
