The International Week of the Deaf

From 17 September 2019 to 20 September 2019

Enabling Village, 20 Lengkok Bahru, Singapore 159053

First launched in 1958 in Rome, Italy, The International Week of the Deaf (IWD) is an initiative of the World Federation of the Deaf (WFD).

The theme for IWD 2019 is  “Sign Language Rights for All!”, which is also the same as International Day of Sign Languages 2019. Members of the International Deaf community gather during this time to promote the status of sign languages and the rights of Deaf people.

The Singapore Association For The Deaf (SADeaf) is organising an event, Singapore Sign Language Week 2019 to promote greater awareness of our Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing community. Come and pledge your support for the Deaf community. There will be an exhibition, games session and many more activities. You may even pick up some basic sign language at the event!
