Lily arrives in Singapore for the first time in her life, she has graduated from Beijing University and now is going to participate in the Master degree program offered by NTU. As a newcomer, she is not acquainted with anyone in the university, thus she is eager to make some friends, get to know more about the university facilities and familiarize herself with the courses to take.
In the old days, it would be wise of her to look for a senior student, who shares the same master program, to look for some answers. Alternatively, going through the web pages to look for information in different forums is doable. However, it would take quite some time for a foreigner like Lily to have everything sorted.
Fortunately, with the help of our newly developed 3 applications, Lily is able to acquire the information she is seeking within just a few clicks.
She logs into the website with her network account provided by NTU, in the course advisor page, the list of available courses detail in her master program is shown, along with the rating of professors and comments. These are left by previous students who have taken the courses. What is more, this smart application can generate a suggestion list according to Lily’s preference and current condition. After browsing through dozens of comments, ratings and recommendations, Lily quickly has it in mind which courses to choose.
When the semester starts, a lot of her time is spent in libraries and labs, every time she would look into the Campus scout page to get recommendations on which place to study. Real time comments from fellow students gives Lily the idea which place is the least crowded, not too cold and has the free computer for use, etc. At weekends, she would seek information on which canteen is still open and what food is served there, how much time she would need to get there and which shuttle bus to take.
Lily has also made friends with quite some people using the iHelp service, by posting tasks and seeking help on the platform, she got her computer fixed, luggage carried to the dormitory, and even shown around Singapore by senior students, she even met her new boyfriend Sebastian with the help of the platform!
