About the Author

Hello, and welcome to my blog!

My name is Ana Stopa, and I am a third year Psychology student from Lakehead University in Thunder Bay, Canada. I am currently on exchange here at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. My hobbies include playing guitar, spending time with friends, fishing, and travelling!

Some of my earliest and fondest memories include an aspect of nature. My upbringing in the small town of Fort Frances, nestled within Northwestern Ontario has fostered my interest for the natural world from a very young age. My experiences have also helped me realize how crucial our natural relationships are to maintaining physical and mental wellbeing. Personally, I feel the most at ease when I am out on the lake.

Within my region, I have been exposed to the struggles many First Nations communities face. I had always regarded Canada as a land of equal opportunity, but research and education has revealed several underlying inequalities to me. As an advocate for both environmental conservation and human rights, I hope to bring awareness to the issue of inadequate drinking water in Canadian First Nations communities through my blog.
