Public awareness of this issue has risen in recent years through the contributions of multiple individuals and communities. Small actions have resulted in widespread movements such as Idle No More, with aims to lobby for government support and large-scale changes. In the meantime, organizations such as the David Suzuki Foundation have taken notice and are also working to facilitate actions. These movements and organizations offer a chance for every day people to become involved, stressing that the loudest voices do not need to be projected from the top of the tier.
