The debate – Online shopping or Traditional shopping?

Many studies focused on ‘last mile’ deliveries – the transportation of goods from a brick-and-mortar store or centralised warehouse to an individual’s home. They concluded that that online shopping is a greener alternative to traditional brick-and-mortar shopping. A key advantage of e-commerce is the reduction in carbon emission due to increased efficiency of mass delivery in trucks as compared to personalised trips to stores using private transport. However, this conclusion is debatable.

In this blog, I will be focusing on non-perishable items.
